typical part-time professor used to earn about $3,500 per course, making the use
of adjunct labor quite profitable for the universities. For comparison's sake, a
full-time professor might make $20,000 for the same course.
We've formed
a union because we want our work recognized by the universities. We bargained
for better pay, job security, partially subsidized health care and pension
benefits. We've formed a union to promote transparency within the universities'
budgetary systems and effect positive and fair change in the way resources are
